G.A.P - June 4.2006 - Review
To put it simply, the bands that performed were in another lever all together. It was an awesome thing to see Christian music be taken very seriously by the musicians.
No - Compromise – bluesy guitars, passionate vocals and a great groovy rhythm section. The band explained the stories behind each song which was downright simple and almost comical. Their renditions of ‘Dancing on the head of the serpent’ and their own compositions were a treat to listen.

Da Voices – What hits you the most is the fact that they are enjoying themselves so much on stage! These 7 young girls were a class apart. They are possibly one of the top acappela groups this side of our country. ‘Swing Low, sweet chariot’, Thank you Lord Hallelujah’ and other acappela classics kept the audience awestruck and tapping their feet. When they were challenged about their vision as a band – “We want to be the first Indian, all girl acapella bands in the international Christian market” came the pat answer from Roshni, the keyboard/lead vocalist! All the best girls – you can get there!

WOW - The last band for the evening. This foursome knocked the audience with their cool confidence and powerful voices. Accompanying them on was Billy on the bass, Deepa on the drums and Timmy Madhukar on the keyboards. The charisma was unforced and the crowd found themselves standing up, clapping their hands and even openly worshipping. The band had some cool minus one tracks to which each one (Zipporah, Beth, Kavita & Masha) sang solos, harmony and all together engaged the crowd with quality Christian music. ‘In the secret’ and other worship songs were really engaging and their own song “Rise India Rise” shook up the heart of every lover of Jesus to love our country and be the light. The emcee for the evening, Sijo also informed the audience on the latest in the international Christian music scene and there were also the latest Hillsongs videos to watch.

Good music, great people – great show! Until next time.
